Living with the water

Tampa's best free amenity is its waterfront: the Riverwalk strings the downtown parks, museums, and venues together, Bayshore's sidewalk runs for miles along the bay, and launching a kayak or a skiff is a before-work activity here. Tides matter for all of it — flats fishing, paddling under the bridges, even which stretch of seawall is pleasant at lunch.

The same geography is why storm surge is the risk this metro plans around; if you live here, know your evacuation zone before you need it — it's on our Storm Ready page.
